Opening act of the Haiku North America 2025 Conference in San Francisco -- Wed. evening FREE to the public.

Features Renée Owen's poetry, accompanied by hubbie Brian Foster's shakuhachi. Also features poets Chuck Brickley and Stephanie Baker, accompanied by Mel Ellison on keyboards, and Agnes Eva Savich on flute, jaw harp & ocarina. Join us for this collaborative performance with its percolating syncopation of spoken word and world music, lifting poems from the page into the air.

NEW BOOK OF POETRY

I'm excited to announce the release of my newest book of poetry, Moonblind. Collaboratively written with poet John Thompson, this hand-sewn book is printed on indigo dipped Cave paper, with letterpress printed covers. It features 16 poems, most previously published and award winners. Copies of this edition (and the wool pouch) can be purchased at Gallery Route One (beginning 9/20) or Haiku North America 2025 in SF or email me for information. I look forward to sharing it with you :)

Excited to share that one of my previous collectors purchased another piece of mine in the recent Gallery Route One exhibition Inward Significance (an Artist Book titled Hole in the Moon, with calligraphy of original poems and assemblage of found items). Features 8 pages of my artist's books, including great close-up photos of the work and an essay I wrote detailing my inspiration and process in creating them, as part of the article, "The Page Unleashed." Alphabet Journal (Vol.48.2, Winter 2022)

Features one of my pieces from the Kalligraphia XVI exhibit of the Friends of Calligraphy at the San Francisco Public Library (Summer 2022). Claudia Chapline Essay ("An Undefinable Original")

An essay I wrote in tribute to much beloved & wildly creative West Marin gallery owner, artist, poet and friend Claudia Chapline. Featured in Frogpond (Vol. 45.3, 2022), the print journal of the Haiku Society of America. Essay includes a small selection of Claudia's haiku.

Art Exhibition Video Walk-Through

Renée served as Co-Coordinator for the international juried exhibition Pulp: Book & Paper Objects at Sebastopol Center for the Arts in Fall of 2022, and co-created this video walk through of the exhibition featuring over 80 pieces from all over the world. It includes two of her own pieces blind juried into the show.
